Rosanna’s plant portraits aim to tell the story of a flower, presenting detailed stems against blocks of colour inspired by the hues of gardens and interiors. She is especially drawn to historic tulips and bearded irises for their exquisite movement, shapes, textures, colours, and markings. Rosanna, who is based in Frome, uses gouache and oil and enjoys capturing plants as they stand in the soil as well in the vase, so often spends time observing the subjects in gardens. Her botanical work is admired and collected internationally by floral artists, interior designers, flower growers, and gardeners.
