A somewhat scruffy small Slope (a travelling writing table when laid flat on a table and opened) here displayed standing vertically and open with one red beize surfaced lid allowed to flap open to reveal half a book bound circa 1812, the other half with its timber and beize surfaced flap, held closed by a brass swivel clip housing the first part of the same book Greek Philosophy- the box as a whole containing other flea market purchases to support the practice of writing in the late 18th and 19th centuaries.
