Yesterday was a rather special day for us, we went for winners drinks and nibbles at No. 15 Great Pulteney boutique hotel in Bath to collect our Muddy Stiletto award for the Best Gift Shop in Somerset! Muddy Stilettos is an award winning blog and website offering publically voted awards across many counties including the South West. The venue was the stunning No.15 Great Pulteney Hotel, we were surrounded by exquisite interior design, art, and lots of quirky details. A particular highlight was the ladies, a lavishly opulent space with a 5 foot chandelier, well why not!
Sadly we didn't get to peek at their spa downstairs but can only imagine how fabulous it is. We loved attending the award winners drinks, it was wonderful to be with so many other Frome businesses, including Rosie from Black Swan Arts, Eleanor Christine Jewellery and Cheese and Grain. We also met lots of other great businesses from around the county
Receiving this wonderful award is beautifully timed as we‚'ve been working hard in our new home at no.3 Catherine Hill for 3 months now and we‚'re so touched you like what we are doing.
It's important to us to keep developing our passion for the arts. Part of this is encouraging emerging talent, so we are proud to offer an artist residency to younger artists. We currently have the very talented illustrator Sophie Minter with us. You can meet Sophie and see her work exhibited alongside global artist Sid Dickens in our upper floor gallery room. "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up‚" is a quote we love by Pablo Picasso. For us championing artists to stay artists is what drives us.
We have to also admit being told we‚'d won in a competition voted for by over 10,000 voters across the Muddy Stilettos sites made our own inner child beam. I mean when as a grown up do you get a big well done and a certificate! Not enough hehe! Thank you to Muddy Stilettos for giving independent businesses a real boost. Well done to all our fellow winners and thank you to you all for voting. We‚'d love to invite you to a special St Catherine pop up evening on June 23rd 4pm-9pm.
We will have ceramist Max Ryan throwing her pottery live in our window and we‚'ll be offering you summer cocktails alongside some summer tunes by DJ Jamie Winter! So pop it in your diary we'll look forward to seeing you there
