This workshop is for lovers of nature, contemporary craft, making, horticulture, interior design and people just wanting to some dedicated time to get creative.
This workshop is run by the wonderful ceramicist Clare Mahoney. With her help you will make a large unique botanical tile by taking impressions of flowers, leaves, grasses, and tendrils in soft terracotta clay, then the impressed clay will be cast in plaster and Cornish stone.
Lots of different botanicals will be provided for you to use but you are welcome to bring along your own to create a tile with a personal touch. Bring something from your own garden or even some of your favourite flowers!
This will dry and harden revealing the finished work. The botanical tile will be ready for you to take home at the end of the workshop.
This is a beginner’s level, so no experience is necessary. All materials are included within the price of the ticket. It may get a little messy so please bring an apron or wear old clothes. During this workshop you will be using sharp tools, you will be instructed on how to use these but please be aware that you are attending this workshop at your own risk.
