How to keep your candle glowing

We all enjoy beautiful scents and there are so many reasons to light a candle: relaxation, romance, burnt dinner...to make sure they always burn bright, we brought you some tips on how to care for them.

First of all make sure you trim the wick to approximately 0.5mm before burning your candle to prevent it releasing soot into the air. If your flame is too unruly or high or smoking, this is a sign that your wick needs a trim.

Believe it or not, candles have memories, so the first burn is really important. Burn for about two hours, or until the wax has melted to the edge of the vessel. This will help an even burn and help to prevent pooling the next time.

If you have one of our delicious scented serenitas candles, please remember to remove the crystals with the first burn. You can place them close to the candle or keep them by your side for maximum effect.

Continue to burn your candle for about two hours a day, but no more than four to stop tunnelling.

Ideally don't burn your candle for longer than 4 hours, anytime over that and your wick will become sad and lost. Once you are ready to extinguish it, use a candle snuffer or blow it off with care to avoid wax spillage and to keep maintaining the wicks' integrity for future burns.

Try not to place your candles in a drafty room, it would lead to uneven burn. Equally, try to avoid placing them on a dusty shelf, or close to the ceiling to avoid damages. Of course never leave a candle unattended or alone with little ones and pets.

We hope these tips will help you to enjoy your candle for longer.
